Causes
Over the years, as a registered charity, Warwick Round Table has raised many thousands of pounds for local causes. In recent times we have made major donations to Myton and Acorns Children’s Hospice. We have funded local projects for children — who have never seen the sea — to visit Blackpool and purchased leisure facilities for local care homes. Other causes have included helping local community centres and groups and contributing to local amenities. We’ve also helped children who were in need of operations, sent children with severe learning difficulties to special overseas clinics and sent "very poorly" children to enjoy Disneyland Paris: to mention but a few.
Each year we provide Christmas hampers to those that will appreciate them most and take coach loads of local OAPs to the theatre for a fun night out. We help organise and run Warwick’s Fireworks evening and on many an evening leading up to Christmas we bring a "little joy" to local children when we bring Santa, on our float, around the streets of Warwick and Hampton Magna.
Believe it or not, occasionally we actually have more money than causes! Sometimes our fundraising efforts are not matched by our knowledge of who needs our help. Money that we have raised for the local community can sometimes sit in our bank account waiting to be used!
If you think we can help you, whether personally or your immediate community, or you know of a local cause you feel could use our help; then please get in touch. (Perhaps you know of someone who could really use one of our Christmas hampers, or our occasional theatre trips?) As an organisation, we have our own rules concerning who and what we can help with (principally, causes must be local and within our general district) and we aren’t always able to help, but a phone call, letter, or e-mail, may prove worthwhile. We would love to hear from you.
Please contact us and be sure to reference all correspondence for the attention of the Warwick Round Table Causes Chairman. Thank you.
