This page demonstrates an older website page having been upgraded - backwards engineered - with HTML5 mark-up and structure. (XHTML5 to be precise).
Some backwards compatibility issues have been tactfully ignored, such as poor HTML5 styling support in old versions of Camino and Firefox (v2) and older Internet Explorer browsers (pre-v9) with JavaScript support disabled*. (But these browsers don't support, or fully support, HTML5).
Mainstream browsers, including older IE browsers (v6 +) and - at time of writing - the current IE8 (which didn't/don't support HTML5), are catered for using contemporary industry standard solutions. However, as HTML5 (& CSS3) is "currently" a burgeoning technology, by the time you visit this page its likely your regular device/browser will feature competent HTML5 support. Thank you. (August 2010).
(*CSS support for printing has also been removed from this page).
Warwick & District Round Table forms part of the international Round Table movement. We are number 1019 and were founded in 1970. ‘Table’ is a non-party political, non-sectarian, open, organisation for young men, and as a registered charity we try to form a strong presence within the local community.
Warwick Round Table is your local Table and forms only part of a nationwide and international list of Tables throughout Britain and the world. Nationally, the 750 local Tables are broken down and collectively grouped within Areas. We are part of Area 45, and share this accolade with others in the district, such as Coventry, Daventry and Southam. WRT (Warwick Round Table) plays a role in the events of Area Table and occasionally we even have international relations. If any member’s business and work involves regular travel, they are also invited to attend any Table meeting which may be happening wherever they might be in the country or even the world!

‘Table’ is an excellent way for members to inject some activity and variety into your social life and the perfect way to make new friends. It also serves as a platform to raise money and help causes throughout the local community and can provide you with a worthwhile sense of achievement. In fact, fundraising for local causes supplies mutual benefits, as this side of ‘Tabling’ often provides the scaffolding and encouragement for us to get together, and actually, have a lot of fun doing what ever it is we’re doing, along the way! Often only our support is required from the community, such as helping to build the town bonfire and firing the evening’s fireworks. In short, for many, Table is the best hobby they’ve ever had.
Each Table throughout the National Association of Round Tables of Britain and Ireland operates in it’s own way. Warwick prides itself upon its’ emphasis on youthful membership, fellowship activities, being socially active, modern and unusually varied in membership. Round Table Clubs are about raising charitable funds for the local community and about having fun. As a registered charity, for some bewildering reason, we are often confused with The Lions Club of Great Britain and/or The Rotary Club. There is no connection. (And we don’t have any secret handshakes either!)
